Export Oil and Gas Export Security Department was founded in the structure of the Special State Protection Service according to Decree No 873-2 of May 31, 2003 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

1. Provide security of the parts of export oil and gas pipelines passing through the land – Sangachal oil terminal, compressor and measuring stations, pipelines and their other ground objects.

2. Protect pipeline objects by means of mobile protection equipments.

3. Carry out access regime of personnel and transport means into the territory of the pipeline.

4. Prevent extraordinary circumstances.

5. Carry out joint warning protection measures and to plan command- staff trainings with Ministries of Defense, Internal Affairs, National Security and State Border Service, concerning central executive power bodies in order to install reliable defense system in the territories near the front line and state borders, to act according operative conditions, to prevent saboteur groups’ entry to this territory during construction and exploitation of the export pipelines.
